Hawaii Figure Skating Club
Guidelines for
The Ocean Resort Hotel Waikiki is the official hotel for the 2005 U.S
Collegiate Championships in August. The LOC has blocked two types of
rooms with special rates. The Moderate Hotel Room will accommodate
one or two guests and the Studio
w/Kitchenette (Superior or Deluxe) will accommodate one to four guests.
Some competitors may wish to share a room to save on expenses. Hawaii FSC will provide assistance in finding roommates to those competitors who request it.
Outline of the roommate assistance plan:
- Competitors sign up with Hawaii FSC, providing required information listed in Roommate Assistance Request Form.
- Hawaii FSC will verify that each person signing up is a current member of U.S. Figure Skating.
- Each time there is an update to the list, Hawaii FSC will email the list to all requestors. This list will include the following information:
-- email address and gender
-- preference of two or four to a room
-- preference of type of room
-- smoking, non-smoking or no preference
-- planned arrival and departure dates
-- Other information as desired to be included by individuals signing up. E.g., College or university, age, competition level, etc. (Note: including your name in the list is optional. Email address is sufficient to initiate correspondence.)
- Individuals initiate correspondence directly with potential roommates.
- Each team of roommates fills out ONE Hotel Reservation Form listing all names and submits it directly to the hotel.
-
Things to consider:
- The hotel cannot guarantee the bedding arrangements prior to check-in.
-- Moderate Hotel room will have either one queen or two twin beds.
-- Studio room will have either one king or two double beds.
- Who will submit the Hotel Reservation Form and pay the required deposit?
- The hotel requires that at least one guest in each room register (at check-in) with a credit card, even if the intention is to pay by cash or check (the credit card must have at least $100 of available balance to cover incidental expenses). Which roommate will do that?
