Skater of the Month

July 2002
Emma Grochowsky

Emma Grochowsky is a Juvenile level skater and has been skating competitively for the past three years. She competed in the ISI World Recreational Team Championships in Minneapolis, MN, in 2000, earning two gold medals and two silver medals along with a team gold medal in the Tropical Blades Production Event. Emma first competed in the Central Pacific Regional Championships last year and earned 6th place in Juvenile Girls Free Skate.

Emma is an aggressive skater. She recently passed Senior Moves in the Field and, at age 11, is the youngest skater in Hawaii FSC to achieve that distinction. Emma is also an ice dancer and has completed her Pre-Silver tests. Her coaches are Therese Hayes, Robyn Conboy and Paul Salas.

Emma attends school at Saint Francis. She enjoys playing the piano as well as swimming in the summertime and, of course, going online during her spare time.
