Hi! I'm Courtney Yang and I'm 12 years old. I go to Iolani School and I'm in the 7th grade. I'm in freestyle 4 right now and in the preliminary level for moves in the field. My coaches are Shanel and Therese and sometimes Jennifer. They help me out ALOT. I am trying to land the axel now but I can only land it on the harness...occasionally.
I can land everything up until the lutz and am working on my camel spin and sit change sit spin. I've been skating since first or second grade and come to the Ice Palace twice a week. I got into ice-skating because I came to my friend’s birthday party and also saw the professional skaters on TV. I wanted to be just like them, so I took lessons. My favorite jump is the flip, and my favorite spin is the sit spin. I hope to go to the Olympics or become a coach at the Ice Palace one day. I also want to pass all of the tests in free skate and moves in the field. I know it doesn’t matter all that much, but I also want to win first place in every competition I’m in.
I also like shopping, watching volleyball and basketball games, and hanging out with my friends. Some hobbies I enjoy are making jewelry, playing on the computer, and painting my nails. My favorite ice skaters are Sasha Cohen, Kristi Yamaguchi, and Michelle Kwan.
