Skater of the Month

My family and I moved to Hawaii two years ago, and one of the first things I did was contact the Ice Palace to find myself a coach. Jennifer Jones called, and she’s been working with me and encouraging me ever since. Skating as an adult definitely involves many challenges, but I wouldn’t give it up for the world! The few hours a week I spend on the ice are hours spent free of any care in the world. I will be testing for the first time ever next month and have recently taken up ice dancing, which I really, really enjoy. Earlier this year at the rink’s spring show, I accomplished a lifelong goal…skating in front of an audience. It was one of the scariest things I’ve done, but a huge thrill, too.
I have two children, Bradley and Charlotte, who I hope to bring to the rink more often in the future. They both love the ice, and Charlotte practices her spirals, spins, and shoot-the-duck at home.
I could not have asked for a greater bunch of people to skate with, and I look forward to more fun times out on the ice!
