Sellers Instructions for
Hawaii FSC Rummage Sales

The Skaters Rummage Sale is sponsored by Hawaii Figure Skating Club. The fees are as follows:
- 10% of the selling price if you are member in good standing of HFSC
- 15% of the selling price if you are not a member of HFSC.
- 15% of the selling price if you are a member of HFSC but will be unable to man your own table during the sale.

Excise tax of 4% will be collected by the cashier at the time of sale and will not come out of the seller's share. The club will provide cashiers for all transactions (there will be NO money exchanges at the individual tables). PLEASE PROVIDE NAME, ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER AS CHECKS WILL BE MAILED OUT.

The sale will be setup in the Ice Palace Mezzanine. Set up time is at 7 AM. Sellers only will be allowed upstairs at 7 AM. Absolutely no buyers, browsing, or loitering will be allowed on the mezzanine before 8 AM. Sellers are responsible for the clean up of their selling space. We must be cleaned up and out by 10:00 AM! There is no grace on this as public session is about to start and the Ice Palace staff must set up for birthday parties.

Fill out the inventory sheet listing the description and price of each item. Fill out a two-part tag for each item. Each tag part must contain your name, the item number from your inventory sheet, the name of the item and the price. You should also include any other information a prospective buyer would like to know (e.g., size, brand name, material, etc.).

It helps to fill out the inventory sheets and tags before the day of the sale. Make a copy of the inventory sheet for yourself. A printed copy of these instructions, inventory sheets, and two-part tags may be obtained at Ice Palace from Jan Yokogawa or any of the HFSC Directors, or from Corinne or Toni (Ice Palace office).

Sellers must turn in an inventory sheet to the cashiers before setting up. If the price is reduced after the inventory sheet is turned in, mark both the top and bottom halves of the tag.

At the time of sale, the cashier retains the lower half of the tag and marks the inventory sheet for each item sold. Remember that properly marked tags provide the only means for the club to determine who gets credit for the sale. Before leaving, the seller should check the cashiers inventory sheet to confirm which items were sold.

Shortly following the rummage sale, the club will mail a check to each of the sellers who had sales.

If you wish to sell items but will be unable to attend your selling area, you may make advance arrangements with Jan Yokogawa for the club to manage your sales area. It is emphasized that this is available only if arrangements are made before the day of the sale. Advance arrangements include how and when your items and inventory sheets will be delivered to Ice Palace. If you are willing to reduce the price on an item in order to make a sale, you must indicate on the inventory sheet the lowest price acceptable.

Your cooperation in all of the above will be greatly appreciated. MAHALO!
